Remember My Service (RMS) is an interactive historical record that documents your Command and Unit history, including photos, video, text, documents , weblinks--up to 2,000 pages and 6 hours of video, all organized, edited, arranged, mastered, duplicated and delivered for you to present to each Servicemember. This is the most comprehensive and engaging historical record you will ever see, and most of what RMS needs to get started is already sitting on computers everywhere, gathered by your historians, PAOs, Servicemembers, and families. Our RMS proprietary software , and our professional editors and Project Managers, incorporate all these items into an interactive presentation that fits on one disc (CD-ROM or DVD-ROM) that can be easily viewed on both Windows and Mac platforms. This RMS historical record is an ideal starting place for discussion as Servicemembers share their military service with family and friends. Click here to view a video demo.
In addition to being an optimal vehicle to recognize the valued service of all individuals in the Unit, RMS is also a modern and affordable way for units to maintain an actual historical record.
Each RMS is divided into three categories: Leadership, Legacy, and Life. The Leadership section diagrams the Chain of Command from Commander in Chief down to Unit leadership, with hyperlinks to full bios and video messages. Legacy covers the history of the Unit, the Division, and the Command, while the Life section directly relates to the individuals within the unit, recording everything from Training to Welcome Home. This section also recognizes the service and support of their families and communities. For Guard and Reserve Units, this is also a place to recognize the contribution of each employer who provides job opportunities for Servicemembers.
LEGACY includes links to the history of the Unit, the Division, the Command, etc., and then each disc will drill down to its own history of its Battalion or Company, and will have links to “Awards and Honors” and “In Memoriam.”
LEADERSHIP includes a complete interactive chain of command for the entire Branch, from the Commander in Chief to the Company leadership pertaining to that particular disc, with links to bios and video messages from each leader.
LIFE contains the most content, with a detailed look at what that Unit does, including interviews with Servicemembers and family members providing the bulk of the “oral history,” a Soldier Gallery with complete rosters, and hyperlinks from each name to their bio and photo. This section is all about what they did, who they served with, what objectives were met, how families and communities supported the mission, what sacrifices they made, and why their service is important.

Such topics as a chain of command, leadership biographies, and interviews can be a part of the Leadership section. The Legacy portion of an RMS usually covers the history of the unit, including past deployments, awards, and alumni features.
The largest section of an RMS is usually the Life section, which covers individual Servicemembers and activities, shared within the unit. The topics of a Life section vary from unit to unit, but some possibilities include:
RMS projects are as applicable to Guard and Reserve units as they are to full-time units.
