Document Your Command and Unit History in One Record

As the saying goes: "If you don’t know your history, then you won't know your legacy." With Remember My Service (RMS), a Commander may document both the Command and the Unit's full history, then present it as a recognition of service to each Servicemember, who then shares this historical record with family and friends. Those shared essential experiences help create a common understanding of what was accomplished, and why they served. Click here to watch a video demonstration.

Unit Historians, Public Affairs Officers, and the individual Servicemembers of every unit are already collecting important moments digitally as photos, video, and other recordings, but there is no coordinated effort or one comprehensive digital platform to integrate all this data—until now. RMS is a full-service program to assist Units with the essential but time-consuming process of creating the most comprehensive historical record possible. Units may out-source to RMS to produce a DVD-ROM with hundreds, even thousands, of digital pages filled with full-color photos, video, historical data, text, documents, audio, weblinks, and hyperlinks. This collaborative historical record is today’s format to integrate both the individual and collective perspectives of service, using all communication tools available today.

The completed RMS is an interactive presentation that fits on one disc (CD-ROM or DVD-ROM). The disc can be easily viewed on both Windows and Mac platforms, and is packaged inside a slim 8x6 personalized hardcover book with 40 blank, lined pages for personal notes. Full color, hard-bound photo "yearbooks" are also available.

In addition to being an optimal vehicle to recognize the valued service of all individuals in a Military unit, RMS is also a modern and affordable way for units to maintain an actual historical record. The average cost is $26 per troop. Click here for pricing information.

Each RMS is divided into three categories: Legacy, Leadership, and Life. The Legacy section covers the history of the unit, the division, and the command, with facts and stories that link the past with the present. The Leadership section diagrams the Chain of Command from Commander in Chief down to unit leadership, and can include hyperlinks, leadership bios, and video messages. The Life section directly relates to the individuals currently serving within the unit, recording everything from training and deployment to events on the home front. This section also recognizes the service and support of Servicemember Families, and includes a Personnel Gallery that can include hyperlinks and short biographies.
