RMS September Update: Welcome to 24 National Guards!
Message from Remember My Service President, Sharlene Hawkes

First it was the Utah National Guard…then Ohio, followed by North Carolina, Wyoming and Oklahoma. And over the next 10 months, we are so pleased to serve 24 Guards throughout the country to help them finally get their legacy of service organized, presentable, and sent on down the Chain where the Soldiers can share it with family and friends. And that’s my favorite part…that Presentation Ceremony. I am going to do my best to attend as many as possible next year (click here if you want to watch video from the Utah National Guard presentation ceremonies from last summer). And just in case you’re curious, the Guards our RMS team get to work with on new projects are: PR, CA, NY, CO, IL, OR, NV, NE, KS, MA, MO, FL, OK, Guam, SD, MD, NC, VI, SC, IA, ME, KY, VT, and HI. And I just want to give a shout out to the NGB Historical Services Division—the Chief, Al Miller, and Steve Stearns and Bill Boehm. It has truly been an honor to be welcomed onto their team, and to assist them in the great work they do.

And as excited as we are about all the Guards we get to meet, and the stories we’ll be hearing…I have to add here that we are just now receiving all the content that the 17 Project Officers with the 3ID in theater have been collecting. I tell you, it’s like Christmas morning opening up those packages and looking at all the valuable photos and video and documents they’re sending along. What an privilege to be producing the history of the Army’s Third Infantry Division—they are living up to their “Rock of the Marne” motto!
